In my work I have seen immigrants’ and refugees’ inability to speak and read English bar them from accessing things such as healthcare, education, voting, social service and employment.

I have witnessed first hand as an immigrant and a language service provider — people with no or almost no access to language services struggling daily due to their language barrier both for themselves and their children.
